Detention GNR workshop AlgozA man was arrested for drug trafficking and possession of illegal weapons in Silves and was fined for irregularities in the workshop he was exploring. The arrest and seizure of various material were made following an inspection of a car repair shop located in Algoz – municipality of Silves, carried out by the local GNR, in collaboration with the Nucleus for Environmental Protection.

On their way to the scene, police detected pots with 10 cannabis plants, which were seized, as well as two mills, which would be used to crush drugs. A shotgun shotgun and three bladed weapons (two butterfly knives and a razor) were also seized, in addition to various 12 and .22 caliber ammunition, 1 LCD television and 1 laptop computer.

«In the scope of the inspection carried out, the Environmental Protection Center also detected the existence of two infractions within the scope of its competences, having prepared the competent infraction notices for oil spill on the ground and for unlicensed waste storage, each of the infractions punished with a minimum fine of 20 euros," added the Territorial Command of Faro of the GNR.

The detained man, aged 35, was the owner of the workshop and resided there.
