The Museum of Portimão will host the Cycle «Cinema de Arquitectura on Wednesdays», every Wednesday in June, an initiative of the delegation from Faro of the Order of Architects and of the Film Club of Faro which starts the day after tomorrow and intends to be “another argument to talk about and promote architecture and, at the same time, support cultural plurality in cinema”.

In May, the same cycle has already been shown in Faro, at the António Ramos Rosa Municipal Library, in a collaboration with the association «Zero em Comportamento». In Portimão, the partner of the cycle's promoters is the Portimão Museum.

According to the organizers, «cinema is, in its genesis, an art, technique or language – no matter the name – that has everything to do with movement. This movement is associated with narratives that are basically drawn up in four dimensions – three of a spatial order and the last one of time».

“These four dimensions are also common to the discipline of architecture. It is enough to remember the architect Le Corbusier's “promenade architecturale” at the beginning of the XNUMXth century, to realize the importance that the movement ingredient can have in the experience and experience of a building, especially from the observer's point of view. Perhaps for this reason, cinematographic discourse can be considered as the one that best represents the complex slang of architecture. Any and all lived experience, photographic image or cinematographic narrative, can, in fact, contribute to making an echo and building a new reality in architecture, adding to it thickness and, above all, greater relevance».

This co-production between OASRS and the Cineclube de Faro it will, in this way, have an “impossible program for unconditional architects and moviegoers”, according to the organizers. Tickets cost 3 euros.

In addition to the films themselves, the cycle will count with the presence of the architect Luís Urbano, coordinator of the «Ruptura Silenciosa» project, will present his films on June 25, after having already done so, in Faro, on May 7th.
