The caravel «Good Hope» is already moored at Sherry port, in Cádiz, where it will stay for another seven days to promote the Algarve to the Spaniards in an original format. It launched anchor yesterday at the Honra pier and is expected to receive hundreds of visitors by the 24th of June.

Almost two weeks after leaving Lagos, the replica of the 23,8th-century caravels used in the epic Discoveries anchors in Cádiz with the aim of showing the Algarve region aboard a vessel measuring 6,6 meters in length and XNUMX meters in width .

Inside are promotional materials and articles from merchandising of the Algarve brand that will be sold at a symbolic price to the public. This public will be able to know details such as the height of the caravel's mast, approach the crew with navigational curiosities and ask for more information about the biggest Portuguese holiday destination: the Algarve.

"Good Hope" came from Seville, where it was an attraction in the Algarve for ten days, having served as a stage for a cooking show for over 100 people. And now the formula repeats itself: Cádiz will see a similar action prepared in its territory, aimed at its journalists, opinion leaders and tourism professionals.

It is also a cooking show scheduled for the 24th under the motto of the cataplana, once again made by the restaurant Tertúlia Algarvia, from Faro.

But the maritime expedition through Andalusian waters does not end here. The caravel will also pass through Malaga and Almeria, these are the last ports of this 170 nautical mile journey that began in Seville at the beginning of the month and ends in September, with the return to Lagos.

This three-month initiative is organized by the Algarve Tourism Region, with the support of Fundación Nao Victoria.
