The “King” of Portuguese Rock Rui Veloso and “Deolinda” will be tonight in Faro, to give music to the students of the University of Algarve on the second night of concerts of the 2014 Academic Week. A night winking at different generations, through well-known names in Portuguese music.

The artist who immortalized songs such as "Chico Fininho", "Porto Covo", "No Stars in Heaven" and "Porto Sentido", returns to the Algarve and is expected to present the successes he has accumulated over more than 30 years of career.

Before the performance of the musician from Porto, «Deolinda» takes to the stage, a much more recent project, but which has long established itself as a successful band.

The project that brings together Ana Bacalhau, the brothers Pedro da Silva Martins and Luís José Martins and Zé Pedro Leitão, bet on innovating on Portuguese traditional music and Fado and has been accumulating successes since 2006, when it was created. The theme «Parva que eu Sou» will be the most emblematic of a set of songs that are seen by many as representatives of a generation.

Opening, he will perform «The Happy Mess», one of the most recent and cherished Pop-Indie projects in Portugal. Miguel Ribeiro and Rui Costa were the driving forces, joined by Joana Duarte and João Pascoal and, later, Pedro Madeira and Sara Badalo, coming from Jazz. At dawn, the music will be guaranteed by DJ Vasco Dantas, who will play music from the 80s.

In addition to the fun, there will also be sport and culture, with the stamp of Algarve university students, this Saturday. At the Athletics Track of Faro, right there next to Wonderland, is taking place this Saturday the National University Championship of Athletics in Outdoor Track.

In the evening, the Sin-Cera University Theater group premieres the play «Sopa com Massa», in the auditorium of the delegation from Faro of the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth (IPDJ), at 21 pm.

This show, which results from an adaptation of the play «Uncle Vânia», by Anton Tchekhov, can be seen again tomorrow, Sunday, in the same place and at the same time.
