“Attracting Foreign Investment to Portugal – The Legal Regimes of Golden Visa and Non-Habitual Residents” was the theme of the conference promoted on the 12th, by the law firm Raposo Subtil e Associados, in partnership with Debates & Discursos, at Hotel Dom Pedro Marina, in Vilamoura.

The panel of speakers was attended by Adriano Pimpão, president of the Loulé Municipal Assembly, João Ricardo Nóbrega, managing partner of RSA, Joaquim Patrício, deputy principal inspector of SEF, Guilherme Grossman, of Consultan Portuguesa, and Pedro Alves, tax consultant at Nexia International.

In front of a crowded room, with about 90 participants, which brought together property developers, consulate representatives, mediators, lawyers, banking representatives, consultants and other professionals in the real estate sector, several practical issues were clarified about the legal framework of the so-called " Golden Visa”, tax status of non-habitual Resident and Free Trade Zone of Madeira.

Concrete ideas and experiences were also presented and debated on how the different players that operate and deal with foreign investors in the Golden Visa sector can benefit and enhance the attraction of investment, and it was unanimously concluded that Portugal has the capacity to to improve its performance, bearing in mind the recognized differentiating qualities that make our country a very competitive alternative for foreign investment.

This initiative is part of a cycle of conferences that RSA Algarve is promoting, and the next Conference will take place in June and will focus on Tourism Developments and Local Accommodation.
