The National Defense Day will be held in Portimão in 2014 and in subsequent years, according to a cooperation protocol between the Municipality of Portimão and the Ministry of National Defense, which will establish the scope and objectives of exchange and cooperation, and which will be signed tomorrow, the 30th, at the Portimão Museum.

The protocol will be signed by the Mayor Isilda Gomes and the Secretary of State for National Defense Berta Cabral, in a ceremony scheduled for 12:00 at the Museu de Portimão, which is part of a broader program.

Portimão is the place where all young citizens born in 1995 currently residing in the Algarve are invited (4117), and the National Defense Day is taking place in innovative ways, to be presented on this occasion, in which it will also be possible to watch a number of activities designed by young people to mark the anniversary.

Program:
11:30 am – Arrival of the Assistant Secretary of State and National Defense
11:35 am – Greetings presentation
11:45 am – Intervention by the General Director of Military Personnel and Recruitment
12:00 – Protocol signing
12:15 pm – Visit to the activities of entities representing the non-military components of National Defense
13:00 – Lunch together with the youth participating in the National Defense Day
14:00 – Departure to visit the demonstration of military activities at the Naval Support Point of Portimão
15:00 pm – End of visit to the National Defense Disclosure Center of Portimão
