“Environmental Impact Assessment – Present and Future Perspectives” is the theme of the seminar that will take place on April 7, at 14:30 pm, at the University of Algarve's Gambelas Campus, organized by the Southern Regional Nucleus of the Portuguese Association of Environmental Engineering (NRS/APEA), from the Faculty of Science and Technology and the Superior School of Engineering at UAlg.

The Nucleus stresses that, «with the repeal of the previous legal regime for assessing environmental impacts, new legal provisions were revoked and introduced, including changes in the typology of public and private projects that require an environmental impact assessment». This is the case of commercial establishments and car parks in urban perimeters that lack an EIA if they exceed the threshold provided for in the diploma.

There was also “reduction of deadlines in the entire EIA procedure and changes in the articulation with other impact assessment and environmental licensing regimes (eg strategic environmental assessment)”.

Thus, the organization of this seminar is intended to «promote reflection and debate on the main changes introduced by the new legal framework for environmental impact assessment and to analyze good practices adopted in environmental impact studies».

Registration is free, upon registration until April 6, via one of the emails:
