The Chamber of Faro is preparing to launch a new review process of the Municipal Master Plan (PDM) of Faro and asks those who work and reside in the municipality to come forward with suggestions. This is still a preliminary phase (and not the public consultation of the document), in which it intends to obtain basic elements for the elaboration of a proposal in the future.

Those interested in making suggestions can do so within the next 30 days. Suggestions, information or complaints about the revision of this important instrument of Spatial Planning, must be made in writing, "through the delivery of a request addressed to the Mayor, in which they must duly identify themselves and state the issue they deem relevant" .

«The document has been the main framework and support instrument for municipal management and, since 1995, the year of its entry into force, has already undergone six changes. In a context marked by new concepts, expectations and processes, this review is intended to achieve greater articulation between planning and land management, as well as to increase its potential for implementation», framed the municipality, in a press release.

«Aware of the importance of the step it is taking, the Municipality could not fail to listen to those who work and reside in the municipality, calling for an active participation of the population. This is, in fact, an excellent opportunity for citizens to actively collaborate with the management process of their municipality», he adds.

On February 12, the municipality signed a contract for the revision of the PDM and for the preparation of the Mobility and Transport Plan with the companies «Place of the Plan, Territory Management and Culture» and «MPT- Mobility and Transport», which won the international public tender launched by the municipality.

«Within a total period of 540 days, the Characterization and Diagnosis Studies, Sectoral Thematic Studies and the Strategic Model will be prepared in three distinct phases; the Plan Proposals and, finally, the Final Versions of the respective Plans», announced the Chamber of Faro.
