The deputy to the Assembly of the Republic Sérgio Azevedo will be today, Friday, in Faro, to talk about «The truth behind Public-Private Partnerships (PPP)», at a conference that the PSD will promote at the Museum of Faro, starting at 21 hours.

The guest speaker is the main rapporteur of the PPP Inquiry Commission and author of the book “PPP – The Cost of a Weak State”. A work in which the social-democratic parliamentarian defends that the road PPPs were made “by political pressure”, being “an instrument of propaganda of several Governments” that resulted in a bill of almost 12 billion euros.

A charge that is equivalent to «ten years of holiday allowance for all public servants and all Portuguese retirees», illustrates the PSD/Faro, which organizes the conference.

«This is one more event that fits into the policy of openness to the outside world than the Political Committee of the PSD Section of Faro has been advocating. It is understanding of the PSD /Faro that parties have the responsibility to communicate outside, integrating and involving the whole society, regardless of political and party options. That is the objective of this conference, which brings to the general public a hot topic and perfectly on the agenda – public-private partnerships and their consequences», he adds.
