The petition promoted by the Commission of Users of the National Health Service against the creation of the Centro Hospital do Algarve will be discussed in the Assembly of the Republic on a date to be defined, announced the Commission.

On Friday, the 21st, a group of representatives of the movement was received by the Parliamentary Commission for Health, in AR, as part of the petition promoted by the Commission of Users, which was circulated by the populations of the municipalities of Portimão, Silves , Lagos and Lagoa, among others, and received around 8500 signatures.

In this hearing, it was possible to expose «the many concerns that exist in relation to the functioning, services and conditions of the Hospital Center of the Barlavento Algarvio, as well as to present several reports and testimonies of users of public health in the Algarve», says the movement.

Because it doesn't want to lower its arms, the Commission for Users of the National Health Service has also announced that it will promote a Public Tribune, on April 5, at hours, in Alameda, in Portimão.

The aim is to «give a voice to all people who want to present their testimonies as users of the National Health Service and citizens, also allowing the exchange of ideas, information and data».

The movement also adds that "new proposals and initiatives will be presented to fight against the destruction of the NHS, in particular hospitals, health centers and health extensions in the Algarve".
