The GNR of Silves detained a man for drug trafficking, at the CP station in Tunis, during the international mega-operation «7th 24 blue Rail Action Day», which aims to «carry out simultaneous controls on the main European railway lines». The man detained in the Algarve had several dozen acorns with hims of hash pollen.

In last Friday's operation, "checks and inspections were carried out in the main stations and railway connections in the Algarve, with special emphasis on the entry and exit of people and goods, as well as the trafficking of narcotics."

The man who was eventually arrested was intercepted by the military as he was leaving the Alfa Pendular from Lisbon. "After approaching and personal security inspection of the individual, it was found that the detainee had in his possession hash pollen in the form of an acorn sufficient for 4005 individual doses, in addition to 2.000 euros (disguised in his coat) and two mobile phones" , described the GNR.

The Territorial Command of Faro committed within the scope of the aforementioned Operation, during the 14th and 15th of March, «about sixty soldiers, which included, in addition to the territorial service, soldiers from the Nature and Environment Protection Service, Criminal Investigation, Public Order and also kinotechnic means (man and dog).
GNR has been a member of Railpol's “7th 24 blue Rail Action Day” initiative since February this year.
