The Portuguese Celina da Piedade, the Japanese «Turtle Island» and training «Jupiter & Okwess International», from the Democratic Republic of Congo will also be at Med 2014, which Loulé will host from June 26th to 28th.

Three names that join the other three that were already known and were announced at the official presentation of Festival Med 2014, which took place about two weeks ago in Loulé. At the time, it was revealed that the Portuguese fado singer Gisela João, the Spanish Mercedes Péon and the Colombians «Bomba Estéreo» will be present at the event.

Celina da Piedade was invited to be present at the presentation of the event that the Municipality of Loulé promoted in Lisbon, in one of the biggest tourism fairs in Europe, as a way to associate the MED Festival with the projection of the Municipality of Loulé across borders.

«Enthusiastic about traditional music and dances, Celina da Piedade is one of the most productive Portuguese instrumentalists who has dedicated herself to the study and dissemination of Alentejo's musical heritage. The city of Loulé, which organizes the event, closed the event's poster very early, but did not want to announce all the names at once, to maintain some suspense around the Festival. These six names are a small part of the total, as 40 artists or bands from 16 countries will take to the different stages installed in the historic center of Loulé.

This will be the 11th edition of Med, an event that has already gained its place in the national cultural panorama and is increasingly assumed to be one of the initiatives with the greatest impact at a regional level. This year, the festival will have three days again and news are announced in terms of tickets, which will not increase compared to 2013 and may even be cheaper, in some cases, as the creation of a three-day ticket is being considered. and another for families.
