Castro Marim City Council wants to renovate Rua da Alagoa, in Altura. The mayor of Castro Marim Francisco Amaral met last Saturday with merchants from the “most commercial street in Altura”, a meeting where he informed them of this intention and announced that a project in this direction is already being developed.

«For more than two hours, the mayor listened attentively to the concerns, anxieties and expectations of the merchants who demand qualification and the creation of better working conditions for the main commercial artery of Altura, stating that only in this way will it be possible to exercise a greater attractiveness to tourists and visitors and, at the same time, boost the economy of the most touristic parish in the county», announced the municipality of Castromarinense.

For now, and before the advancement of a more comprehensive project, Francisco Amaral committed himself to the merchants, for this summer, to continue to maintain one-way traffic on Rua da Alagoa, from June to September, advancing, also, the possibility of interdicting traffic from 19 pm and increasing the pedestrian space for passersby.
