Loulé and Vila Real de Santo António, as Best Municipalities, Vila Joya as Best Independent Hotel or Fazenda Nova Country House as Best Rural Tourism are three of the eight nominated in the Algarve for the Publituris Portugal Trade Awards 2014.
The awards, which will be known on March 12, during the BTL – International Tourism Fair, in Lisbon, with the presence of the Secretary of State for Tourism Adolfo Mesquita Nunes, also named three Algarve Marinas – those of Lagos, Portimão and Vilamoura, for Best Recreational Port/Marina, while the Tivoli Marina Vilamoura Congress Center competes for Best Space for Congresses.
Voting for the Publituris Portugal Trade Awards runs until the 7th of March.
To vote, just visit the website http://premios.publituris.pt/trade2014/. On the voting site, you must enter the email in which you receive the Publituris newsletter. If you are not a newsletter subscriber, you must register in order to vote.
This year, for the first time, the election of the winners results from a weighted average between the votes of subscribers (40%) and members of the jury (60%).
There are 13 categories in the contest: Best Cruise Company, Best GSA Aviation, Best PCO – Professional Organizer Congress, Best Event Space, Best Congress Space, Best Tourist Entertainment Company, Best Corporate Agency, Best Operator Site, Best Marina, Best Independent Hotel, Best Hotel Chain Site, Best Rural Tourism and Best Municipality.
Every year, Jornal Publituris holds two events to distinguish excellence in Tourism: the Portugal Trade Awards and the Portugal Travel Awards.
This initiative, unique of its kind in Portugal, had its genesis in 1969 under the name of “The Best of Tourism in Portugal”.
Since 2010, and given the number of categories in the competition, Publituris, with the support of BTL – International Tourism Fair, started to organize the Portugal Trade Awards.
