Portinado hosted the first three rounds of the National Children's Championship (inter-regional stage) in Polo Aquatico, which took place in the municipal swimming pool of Portimão, this weekend (February 14th and 15th).

On Saturday, the Portinado team beat Lagoa by an expressive 21-4 and, in the second game of the day, again scored twice against Búzios de Coruche, by 27-8.

On Sunday, the third of the five rounds that constitute the first round of the Nacional in the south zone took place, and the children of Portinado won again (18-9), in a very disputed game against Coral de Reguengos de Monsaraz.

The tactical maturity shown by some athletes from the Algarve was decisive for this victory, as well as the superior physical condition of the opponent.

At this moment, the teams of Aminata de Évora and Portinado occupy the 1st place ex-aequo in the classification, which, in the next round, will meet, in a game that will be decisive to define the leader of the competition.

"The balance of these first three official games is very positive, not only for the victories achieved, but also for the evolution that the team has been showing since the beginning of the season", stresses Portinado in a press release.

Portinado's children's team is made up mostly of cadet players.

Portinado team constitution: Tiago Augusto, Tomé Carminho (2 goals), Catalin Caus, Tomás Palma (26 goals), Bernardo Ventura, Daniel Pereira (1 goal), Tomás Pinto (8 goals), Miguel Oliveira (11 goals), Adrian Dragutan (16 goals), Afonso Prego (1 goal), Ricardo Angelo, Gonçalo Vedor (1 goal), João Magueijo.
