The Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve celebrates Valentine's Day, which is celebrated on February 14, with the launch of the competition «romantic moments», as a «contribution to the promotion of bonds of affection with the Algarve's cultural heritage».
O hobby proposes to all interested parties the expression of their feelings, about or related to monuments in the Algarve, in a text of prose or poetry and runs until February 13th, with the winner being announced on February 14th.
The prizes are two tickets from the ''Monumentos do Algarve'' circuit (includes a visit to the Fortress of Sagres, Chapel of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Megalithic Monuments of Alcalar and Roman Ruins of Milreu), valid until 31 December, as well as the offer from several publications edited by the Regional Directorate: «Guides to the Algarve's monuments», «Roteiro de Milreu», «Sagres: from the Sea and from Time», «Alcalar 7: Study and Rehabilitation of a Megalithic Monument», «Ninety Centuries between the Serra e o Mar” and “Henrique, the Infante who changed the World” (exhibition catalogue), as well as a pen, a pencil and an eraser from the Promontório de Sagres Line.
Also within the scope of this celebration Momentos Românticos, on February 14, one of the members of each couple visiting the monuments under the tutelage of that Regional Directorate, Fortress of Sagres, Chapel of Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe (Raposeira, Vila do Bispo) and Roman Ruins of Milreu (I am, Faro), will enjoy free entry.
All visitors can also enjoy a 10% discount on the purchase of jewelry, handkerchiefs and items associated with nautical and sea, available in the monuments' stores.
