Three young Iberian illustrators will exhibit their work at the Gambelas Library of the University of Algarve (UAlg), in Faro, in an exhibition held within the scope of the “Otoño Cultural Iberoamericano” initiative.

The exhibition «Joven Ilustración Ibérica» can be seen from 10 January to 14 February and brings together works by the Portuguese Catarina Santos and the Spaniards Susana Pérez and David Robles, ranging from collage to illustration for children's editions, through ceramics and art. digital illustration.

This is an initiative of the also young «Untapped Events», an Algarve company that manages and organizes events that is being incubated by CRIA - UAlg's Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer Division. The initiative follows on from the challenge launched by the director of the “Otoño Cultural Iberoamericano” initiative Jaime de Vicente and is carried out in partnership with the Fundación Caja Rural del Sur.

Inaugurated on October 10, 2013 at the University of Huelva, the exhibition «Joven Ilustración Ibérica» aims to present various trends in current illustration. This exhibition is part of the 6th edition of the initiative «Otoño Cultural Iberoamericano» (OCIb 2013), whose purpose «is to maintain the quality and diversification of the different manifestations of culture, reflected in the numerous programmed activities, with Portugal as a special guest country».

Combining cultural, educational, solidarity and gastronomic activities and having as a reference the Ibero-American culture, the OCIb 2013 aims, according to Jaime de Vicente, «to intensify the relations between citizens and countries of the Ibero-American Community of Nations, creating links, through culture, between America and Europe”, being a “meeting space that reflects its enriching diversity”.

After being on display at the University of Algarve Library, on the Campus de Gambelas, the exhibition will move on to the Consulate of Portugal in Seville.

«Untapped Events» was created in August 2013 by former UAlg student Lina Lopes. Based on scientific events, the experience of the newly created company has been extended to the organization of business and cultural events, the most recent example being the «Marketing & Networking – how to use it to get more business?» event. place in Albufeira on November 13, 2013.
