The future of Algarve Tourism will be discussed in Vilamoura, with the help of renowned international speakers, at the II Tourism Summit. Steve Forbes, Editor-in-Chief of Forbes Media and Chairman of the Executive Board of the World Travel & Tourism Council Michael Frenzel are just two of the special guests who will be present at the Tivoli Victoria Hotel Conference Center on November 22nd. The presence of Prime Minister Pedro Passos Coelho and Economy Minister António Pires de Lima are also confirmed.

The theme of this edition of the conference promoted by the Portuguese Tourism Confederation (CTP) will be «Algarve: building the future» and will serve to «reflect and debate the new paths of the sector and of the Algarve region». Work starts at 10 am and lasts until 18 pm.

Focusing on one of the most coveted destinations in the world, the II Tourism Summit has two panels where the themes “Seasonality – Threat or Opportunity?” will be debated. and «Residential Tourism – Development Strategy for the Algarve», meaning the most extensive discussion of the sector in 2013, promoted by CTP.

«The Algarve is the main tourist region in the country. However, despite the efforts made in recent years to diversify the offer, this destination continues to be characterized by seasonality and by the Sun e Mar product. It is necessary to rethink the positioning of the Algarve, define new business models and promote it efficiently and creatively with the foreign market», summarizes CTP.

The II Tourism Summit intends to help make this project a reality and, for this, promoted a session that brings together «leaders, “opinion makers” and professionals representing the sector”, which also makes the meeting “a crucial moment for the development of “networking”».
