Christmas traditions and know-how will be on display at Tertúlia Algarvia, in Vila-Adentro de Faro, in the exhibition «TASA, handicraft linked to Christmas», which will be on display from November 27th to January 30th in this gastronomic and cultural space in Vila-Adentro de Faro.
The exhibition aims to «recover the memory of the Algarve mud, linking Christmas traditions and symbology with the pieces of the TASA Técnicas Ancestralis, Soluções Atuals project, as well as showing how traditional arts are useful and look good in our time and this Christmas».
The organization, which is in charge of Tertúlia Algarvia and the company ProActive Tur, which recently joined the project of the Commission for Regional Coordination and Development, also suggests parallel activities.
On December 8, between 11 am and 17 pm, a Christmas Market will be held on the terrace of Tertúlia Algarvia, «where the various traditional Algarve arts will be represented, with very suggestive products to offer in this season».
On the same day, the kitchen workshop “Make your Christmas supper” will be promoted, which will teach how to make stew of Galo in the Querença and donut fashion. This is followed by a tasting of the cooked products and other typical Algarve Christmas dishes. The cost of this workshop is 40 euros per person and the reservation must be made until December 5th via email [email protected].
On December 15th, The four new TASA products will be announced, developed in a creative residency that brought together young designers, from Portugal and beyond, with artisans from Serra do Caldeirão. The launch of these handcrafted pieces starts at 15 hours with a bike ride in the Old Town of Faro, follows with a wine tasting, an information action on ecotourism in the Algarve and a demonstration on how to take care of plants on the balcony.
