The exhibition «Design & Crafts» will show the results of the third edition of the project with the same name from next Monday. The inauguration of the exhibition is scheduled for 16 pm, at Tertúlia Algarvia, in Vila-Adentro de Faro.
The inauguration will be followed by a handicraft workshop, aimed at parents and children, during which participants will have the opportunity to learn a little more about the techniques of cane basket weaving and palm work.
To participate in the workshop, each adult accompanied by a child will have to pay 6 euros. The artisans invited to minister this action are Domingos Vaz and Custódio Cavaco, masters in the use of sugarcane and the palm contract.
The project that inspires this exhibition, «Design&Ofícios» is the result of a collaboration between the Association of Designers of the South and the City Council of São Brás de Alportel. In each edition, a group of creative young people is chosen to work and learn with experienced artisans, who, in many cases, risk not being able to pass on their knowledge and knowledge to anyone.
Those interested in visiting this show will have until November 7th to do so, during the opening hours of Tertúlia Algarvia.
