November is coming and, with it, the time to listen to the historical organs of Faro, played by renowned organists. The sixth edition of the Organ Festival of Faro starts on November 2nd and will be divided, as usual, by the Cathedral of Faro and by Igreja do Carmo, on the five Saturdays of the next month.

The initiative begins with a concert starring Sérgio Silva, on November 2nd, at 21 pm, at Sé de Faro. On the following weekends, the party continues to take place in the Cathedral, always at 21 pm, with Isabel Albergaria being the guest on the 9th and with the Spanish organist Roberto Fresco traveling to Faro on the 16th, giving an international stamp to the festival.

The initiative continues at Igreja do Carmo, starting on November 23, when David Paccetti Correia will play the old organ of the Church of Faro, at 21 pm. The Festival ends on November 30, with the organist Nuno Alexandrino, accompanied on the trumpet by Paulo Margaça.

In this edition of the event, some of the elements that were introduced in this unique festival of its kind in the southern region of the country are maintained. The international component, the space given to women organists and the addition of new sounds to that of the organ, added elements of interest to the festival and is maintained, in order to mobilize more public.

The festival also continues with a solidary facet. The 2 euros donation requested at the entrance of each concert reverts in full to the Association for the Protection of Girls and the Family, of Faro.

The event is organized by Associação Cultural Música XXI and the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve and has the support of the Municipality of Faro and the Hotel Faro.
