The Loulé Council will join the International Day for Disaster Reduction, which is marked tomorrow, Wednesday, with two lectures on natural disasters and procedures for evacuation of public spaces, addressed to 1st Cycle students, at 10 am and 14:30 pm, at the Cine-Teatro Louletano.

The afternoon session will end with a simulation (earthquake followed by fire), where students will be evacuated from the Cine-Theater and the building's Security Team will have to proceed as if it were a real situation, thus complying with the legislation in force, which refers to the obligation to carry out a drill every two years according to the type of building.

The initiative will be organized by the Municipal Civil Protection Service of Loulé.

The International Day for Disaster Reduction was instituted by the United Nations since 1989, in order to sensitize governments, organizations and citizens around the world to the need to develop actions that contribute to preventing and reducing vulnerabilities and to increase capacity to respond to the occurrence of natural disasters.
