EB1 of Cabanas de Tavira received, on October 10th, the awards of the 5th edition of the Generation Depositrão campaign, in a ceremony attended by representatives of the Municipality of Tavira, of the local Parish Council, of the “Vicentinas”, of the Community School and School Grouping Dr. Jorge Augusto Correia.
The school was presented with €1.000 worth of Worten equipment, €500 worth of essential goods offered by Pingo Doce and a microwave from Orima.
The social aspect of the project is marked by the Pingo Doce award, given to the institution “As Vicentinas”, responsible for providing support to needy families in the municipality.
The school stood out nationally in the activity of collecting waste electrical and electronic equipment and used batteries, appearing in the first three places in the ranking, with 110.52 credits per student (waste was converted into credits according to its type) .
This project, developed in partnership with the Blue Flag Association of Europe (ABAE), Eco-Schools Program, involved more than 640 schools and more than 340.000 students from all over the country.
The 6th edition of Generation Depositrão will start soon, in order to continue to encourage correct environmental behavior.
