Loulé will once again mark the Night of the Witches, or “Halloween”, an “Anglo-Saxon tradition that has taken root in Portugal” and is celebrated on the night of October 31 to November 1, All Saints' Day.

A party that also wins the eye to the «important foreign community» and the many tourists of Anglo-Saxon origin who visit the county, for whom «the Halloween celebrations have great significance».

Next Thursday, the center of Loulé will be properly decorated and the entertainment will be in charge of the Satori Association. “At various points there will be demonstrations of gymnastics, zumba and a contemporary dance show, in which all participants will be dressed in costumes reminiscent of Halloween. The Majoretes of Loulé are also taking part in this festival», revealed the municipality.

Thus, it is to be expected that the venues hosting the event – Largo de S. Francisco, Rua 5 de Outubro (Rua das Lojas), Praça da República, Cerca do Convento and Avenida José da Costa Mealha (up to the bandstand) – will be invaded « by witches, zombies, vampires and many other creatures of darkness».

On November 1st, the party continues with the "1st Zombie Walk Loulé" that the "Hellgarve Devellinns Roller Derby de Loulé" will promote at 21 pm. This initiative consists of a “demonstration of skates, skateboards, bicycles and scooters”. The musical animation will be the responsibility of DJ Rodriguez, who works at Cerca do Convento, from 30 pm onwards.

This is an initiative promoted by ACRAL, which has the Câmara de Loulé as a partner entity. In addition to the entertainment aspect, this event also aims to contribute to the dynamization of traditional commerce, whereby the stores will join the party by keeping the doors open to the public at night.
