Alcoutim will be at a party from September 13th to 15th, to celebrate the municipality's day. Quim Barreiros, Herman José and «Expensive Soul» are the artists chosen to animate locals and visitors, in a program that also includes tributes to municipal employees.
During the day, the party takes place in the Alcouteneja village, with lots of street entertainment, music in Praça da República, sports activities and the Feira dos Sabores. The disco on the pier will liven up the early mornings, which end with the well-known cocoa on the river.
The Municipality Day is celebrated on the 13th, but the party lasts longer. Quim Barreiros was chosen to liven up the night, after the "old-school dance", which will take place over the three days, at 22 pm.
Also on September 13, the municipality's president Francisco Amaral, a few days before saying goodbye to the position (cannot re-apply due to term limitations), will honor the municipality's employees with more than 25 years of service and those who have been retired since 2009, with a total of 28 workers.
“We want to thank these people, who have worked a lifetime for the municipality and for the citizens, in the most diverse areas, whether external service or secretariat. It is an act of recognition by those who have collaborated in a committed manner with the municipal executive”, revealed Francisco Amaral.
On the 14th, called «Spain Day», the renowned Portuguese artist Herman José will be on stage. On the «Youth Day», on September 15th, the music is guaranteed by «Expensive Soul».
The Party is organized by the Municipality of Alcoutim and the profits revert to the Volunteer Firefighters and Grupo Desportivo de Alcoutim.
