A total of 1041 people participated, over three days, in the European Heritage Days, in Portimão, with various activities that took place in the Museum, in the megalithic monuments of Alcalar and in the Museum's reserves.

Thus, on Friday, at the inauguration of the «Submarino», the nucleus of the Ocean Revival underwater park in a wing of the underground cistern of the Museum of Portimão, 307 people were present.

On Saturday, in the historical journey through the knowledge and traditions of Mexilhoeira Grande, in the megalithic monuments of Alcalar, which even included a leaf-letting, to the sound of concertinas, with fried cookies to accompany, 634 people of all ages participated.

Finally, on Sunday, the various activities attracted 100 interested parties, with the highlight being the visit to the mosaics in the villa Abicada, which, before its restoration, are kept in the museum's reserve warehouse.

Seventeen people participated in this visit to the “Abicada do Avesso”, which also allowed to observe a reconstruction of how they would have been there during the Roman period.

According to José Gameiro, director of the Portimão Museum, who, in collaboration with the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve, promoted the initiatives in the municipality, that number represents a «30% increase compared to last year. We exceeded our expectations».
