The trailer for the film “Marisqueiros da Vila do Bispo – Filhos de um Mar Maior” was presented at the Cultural Center of Vila do Bispo, on Friday, August 2nd.

After this first partial screening, which was attended by some of those portrayed in the documentary, “Marisqueiros da Vila do Bispo – Filhos de um Mar Maior” will be shown in full at the 2nd Perceve Festival, which takes place from August 23 to 25, in Vila do Bispo.

The film by director Carlos Vaz, with images by Miguel Veterano and Rodrigo Corteseano, and interviews by Alexandra Trindade, portrays the hard life of shellfish collectors in the collection of barnacles, the king shellfish in Costa Vicentina.

With spectacular images of the steep and imposing cliffs, the film aims to promote to the general public a product of quality and excellence, the Vila do Bispo barnacle.

This is a project carried out by the Association of Shellfish Collectors of Vila do Bispo and by the Municipal Council of Vila do Bispo, which aims to preserve and manage this product so appreciated by many, as well as acquiring its certification and labelling, achieved through an application to the PROMAR program.

The film featured the collaboration of Kore Agência de Comunicação & Fotografia and Mar de Histórias.
