For the fourth consecutive year, the AOA – Associação Oncológica do Algarve will organize the Solidarity Human Bond in Praia da Rocha, intending to bring together a minimum of one thousand people on the morning of August 17, in partnership with the Municipality of Portimão.
From 10:00 am, participants will “draw” on the beach the pink ribbon, a global symbol of the fight against cancer, followed by a moment of physical activity and the drawing of several prizes, in an action whose main objective raise funds for construction in Faro of Casa Flor das Dunas, which will serve as a home for cancer patients during the radiotherapy sessions to which they have to be exposed.
The initiative also aims to raise awareness of the problem of breast and skin cancer, with entries having a value of 2 euros as a minimum donation and can be made on the following dates and locations: 8th and 9th or 12th to 16th of August – Barlavento Algarvio Hospital Center (9:00-12:30 and 14:00-17:00), Market on Av.ª S. João de Deus (9:00-12:00) and local delegation of the Algarve Oncological Association – Urb. do Pimentão, Block 2/A Cave Três Nozzles (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday – 15:00-18:00, Wednesdays – 10:00-12:30 and 14:30-17:30); August 10 – Flash Mob at Av.ª S. João de Deus Market (9:00-12:00); August 10th and 11th – Pingo Doce at Rua Dom Carlos I (9:30am-18:00pm); August 14, 15 and 16 – Continente Shopping Center (09:30am-18:00pm); August 12th to 17th – Praia da Rocha Sports Area (09:30 am to 12:00 pm).
