The state of health services in the Algarve worries PS Algarve president António Eusébio, who this Tuesday went public to denounce "strong gaps in the supply of consumable materials necessary for good health care practices" in the region's Health Centres, a situation that he considered "intolerable".

A public position taken following complaints from users of these health units, revealed António Eusébio. “Reports of a disruption in the supply of basic materials such as gloves, vaccines, blood glucose strips or therapeutic material for bandages are multiplying. Health professionals report that, in many cases, care is being provided subject to the availability of materials and not the clinical needs presented, and sometimes situations collide with standards of good practice", illustrated the socialist, in a press release.

António Eusébio even guaranteed that, «in some cases, and with an increasingly regular frequency, users find themselves faced with the need to purchase the missing materials from street pharmacies, in particular dressing materials, which are missing in the Centers. of health".

The socialist leader considers that the health sector is "navigating in sight", a problem that is accentuated "with the recent resignation of the president and member of the Regional Health Administration, not yet replaced, and apparently absent".

Showing "incredibility and extreme concern" in relation to the situation he describes, the president of the PS/Algarve says he cannot "compromise with a management that, by omission, or by untimely decisions, can, ultimately, put health at risk of the Algarve and the population who visit us».

«A new look and a new pulse for health in the Algarve is essential. The Algarve and the country deserve it, the Algarve and the people who visit us demand it!” defended António Eusébio.
