Prime Minister Pedro Passos Coelho is going to make a declaration to the country today, which should take place at 20:00, from São Bento, seat of Government.

Paulo Portas, Minister of State and Foreign Affairs, presented this afternoon the your resignation, justifying his decision with his disagreement with the appointment of Maria Luís Albuquerque to the Finance Ministry, after the departure of Vítor Gaspar, which took place yesterday.

With the departure of Paulo Portas, the resignation of the remaining ministers of the CDS/PP (Asunción Cristas and Pedro Mota Soares) is now expected, or even the fall of the Government, which no longer has support in the parliamentary majority resulting from the PSD+CDS coalition.

It is speculated that Passos Coelho himself may announce, this evening, his resignation. According to SIC Notícias, all government ministers were summoned to a conversation with the prime minister, before his announcement to the country.

However, the leader of the CDS/PP called for a meeting of the executive committee of the party for tomorrow.
