Swimmers Ricardo Sousa Filipe (Louletano) and Paulo Sousa (O2-Portimão) were the swimmers who climbed the podium the most times, in the XV National Master Swimming Championship, which took place in the municipal swimming pools of Loulé, over the weekend. The swimmer from Loulé won five gold medals, while the athlete from Portimão won one gold and five bronze.

Four athletes from the O2-Portimão association won gold, silver and bronze medals.

Thus, Ana Filipa Santos won a gold medal, with Paulo Sousa (1 silver + 5 bronze), Filipe Santos (1 silver) and Carolina Santos (1 silver) having also been medaled.

In the case of Portinado, the medals went to Walter Emunds, 61 years old (1 silver, 2 bronze), Leila Esteves, 53 years old (1 silver, 2 bronze), José Faustino, 45 years old (2 silver, 2 bronze), David Tristão , 38 years old (1 silver). Athletes Ana Bárbara, Ana Santos, Leila Esteves and Luciana Maffei were also awarded medals, who formed the female relay team (1 silver, 1 bronze).

Four teams from the Algarve were present in this Championship: Portinado (16th, with 202 points), O2 (17th, 146 points), Louletano (29th, with 45 points) and Natação de Lagos (36th, with 39 points).

The O2-Portimão de Master project is a project that from year to year has been increasing the number of athletes, as well as significantly improving their classification.
