The Race of the Bay of Monte Gordo returns to the municipality of Vila Real de Santo António on the 11th of August, on an 8-kilometre route, always close to the sea line.
After three years of interregnum, the 24th edition of one of the most famous races in Sotavento once again unites the beaches of Manta Rota and Monte Gordo with the usual competitiveness.
The departure from the Manta Rota beach is scheduled for 11:00 am. The route crosses Lota and Altura beaches and Verde and Retur beaches. The goal is located at Coelho beach (Monte Gordo).
Athletes born in 1995 or earlier, registered individually or collectively, whether federated or not, according to the Junior, Senior and Veteran levels (I, II, III, IV and V) can participate in this competition.
Registration for the race can be made on the website of the Algarve Athletics Association (www.aaalgarve.org) or at the secretariat of the VRSA Sports Complex (Monday to Friday between 9:00 and 12:00 and 13:00 and 15:00 ).
Enrollments can be made until the 8th of August and have a value of 10 euros. They include the offer of a t-shirt, water and temporary personal accident insurance.
The organization will ensure return transport, at the end of the race, between Monte Gordo and the place of departure.
The 24th edition of the Corrida da Baía de Monte Gordo is classified as a beach athletics event and is jointly organized by the Vila Real de Santo António City Council and the Algarve Athletic Association.
