The lunch-debate with Álvaro Santos Pereira, scheduled for Wednesday, the 10th, was cancelled, announced the Portuguese-British Chamber of Commerce (CCLB), which cites information from the minister's office, received "today in the early afternoon".

The lunch-debate was supposed to take place at the Hotel Conrad Algarve, in Quinta do Lago, Almancil.

The minister would be in the region at the invitation of CCLB, organizer of the event, and it was expected that he would answer questions from the audience after his intervention.

However, Álvaro Santos Pereira is, it seems, one of the reformed ministers in the Government, talking about his replacement by the centrist Pires de Lima.

However, the changes to the Government will still have to be approved by the President of the Republic, and it is expected that their announcement, if they obtain the presidential yes, will be made on Tuesday, after Cavaco Silva had heard the political parties.
