The seine fishing fleet is completely paralyzed in the Algarve, due to today's General Strike, while garbage collection is stopped at 100% in at least three municipalities and hospitals are operating on half gas.

Thus, garbage collection has come to a complete halt in Loulé, where none of the 18 trucks have gone out into the street, in Tavira and Portimão. According to the Union of Unions of the Algarve, in Olhão garbage collection is reduced to half and in Vila Real de Santo António to 25%.

With regard to hospitals, at the Hospital Center of the Barlavento Algarvio, which includes the units of Portimão and Lagos, of the 60 nurses scheduled, 49 are on strike (81,67%), while the assistants were paralyzed at 51,72%.

Em Faro, 88,32% of the nurses joined the strike, as well as 64,71% of the assistants.
