The Secretary of State for Tourism will dive, on Tuesday morning, in the underwater park «Ocean Revival», off Alvor, to truly get to know on-site visit this project to increase underwater tourism.

This will be one of the many activities in the three-day program that Secretary of State Adolfo Mesquita Nunes will carry out next week in the Algarve, between 27 and 29 May.

Thus, on Monday morning, at 11:00 am, the Secretary of State will be present at the launch of the second phase of the Algarve Training Programme, a ceremony that will take place at the auditorium of Turismo do Algarve, in Faro, and which will also bring to the region the Minister of Economy Álvaro Santos Pereira, as well as the Secretary of State for Employment Pedro Roque.

In the afternoon, at 15 pm, Adolfo Mesquita Nunes will visit the University of Algarve, accompanied by Desidério Silva, president of the Regional Tourism Authority of the Algarve, who, incidentally, invited the member of the Government responsible for this visit extended to the region. by the most important sector of the Algarve economy.

The visit, which begins at 15:30 pm at the Rectory of the Campus of Gambelas, includes a presentation of UAlg's activities in the area of ​​Tourism, in the fields of graduate and postgraduate education, scientific research, cooperation with the business and institutional world and international relations .

On Tuesday, the 28th, the Secretary of State's morning, between 9:30 am and 13:00 pm, will then be occupied with the presentation of the “Ocean Revival” project by Subnauta, in Praia da Rocha, followed by a dive in the two former Portuguese warships, already sunk off Alvor, the corvette “Oliveira e Carmo” and the patrol ship “Zambeze”.

Since October, the date of its sinking, the underwater park has already attracted more than 2500 dives, in what is considered an unprecedented success by Luís Sá Couto, of the Subnauta company and founding member, with the Câmara de Portimão, of the Musubmar Association, which promotes the project to increase underwater tourism.

Just over fifteen days since the sinking of the third ship – the frigate «Comandante Hermenegildo Capelo» -, the «Ocean Revival» park is perhaps the biggest investment in curs in the tourist sector in the Algarve and also the most innovative, reasons that underlie Adolfo Mesquita Nunes' underwater visit.

Tuesday afternoon, and like the Sul Informação already revealed yesterday, the Secretary of State will have a meeting on Health Tourism and Wellness, at the invitation of the president of ERTA Desidério Silva, which will take place at the Hotel Real Santa Eulália, in Albufeira, with the presence of tourism, hotel and health sector businessmen, investigators, mayors and other important players for that market segment.

Closing this long three-day visit to the Algarve – the longest in many years by a responsible for Tourism – Adolfo Mesquita Nunes will participate on Wednesday, the 29th, between 11 am and 13 pm, in Lagos, in the debate in the Diário de News from the cycle «DN Mar 00», dedicated to Tourism.

The conference will take place in the auditorium of the Municipality of Lagos, and will also be attended by Desidério Silva, Vítor Neto, former Secretary of State for Tourism and President of NERA, Júlio Barroso, Mayor, and Dália Paulo , Regional Director of Culture of the Algarve. The debate will be moderated by João Céu e Silva, a journalist from DN.
