The Sporting Clube Farense team was honored this Thursday at the Chamber of Faro, an occasion that the athletes and technical team took advantage of to pay their own tribute to the people and entities that supported them in the journey that led them to win the South Zone of the II National Division and, consequently, rise to the II League.

Farense's players cheered the South Side Boys' fans, the Motoclube de Faro and figures linked to the club, such as Aníbal Guerreiro and the person responsible for the Legal department, Rui Gomes, in a very lively evening in the Paços do Concelho in the Algarve capital, where good mood prevailed.

One occasion is that the president of the Chamber of Faro Macário Correia took the opportunity to praise those who contributed to the return of the main emblem of the county to the professional levels of Portuguese football, on and off the field. The club was invited to “come back more often and quickly”.

Something that would mean that Farense was back in the I Liga, its place, in the view of the club president António Barão. Despite the party, the director did not shy away from reminding the local authority that, a few days ago, the club lost in court a piece of land that it had been given by the City Council and appealed to the local authority to rectify the situation.

"We don't ask for money, but land that could be an asset to the club would be welcome," he said.
