With the summer holidays approaching, the Museum of Portimão and the Quinta Pedagógica de Portimão have prepared a set of proposals for children and young people to spend their free time in a fun and educational way.
At the Museu de Portimão, the Oficina Educativa proposes a lively program of activities between June 17th and July 19th, with the formation of five groups.
Aimed at young people from 7 to 12 years old, the initiative aims to stimulate their creativity, the capacity for expression and group work, with a set of educational activities of a playful nature, which take place in the following periods: 17th to 21st June; June 24-28; July 1-5; July 8th to 12th; and July 15th to 19th, from 09:30 am to 17:00 pm.

Between June 17th and August 16th, Quinta Pedagógica de Portimão also offers an attractive program of initiatives aimed at children from 6 to 10 years old, where direct contact with nature is privileged.
Open to curiosity, the desire to experiment and the desire to learn, in this rural space in the heart of the city, it is possible to practice various traditional trades, simultaneously with food and environmental education and the study of fauna and flora.
There is a morning shift, between 09:30 am and 12:30 pm, while in the afternoon activities take place between 14:00 pm and 17:00 pm, with enrollment costing 10 euros per shift.

Sports Vacation 2013
Meanwhile, the 23rd edition of the Sports Vacation is already being prepared with a view to providing young participants with multiple sports, recreational, cultural, civic and environmental education activities.
This initiative will bring together around 2500 children and young people from 6 to 16 years old and is divided into three shifts (1st to 12th July – registrations open from June 24th; 15th to 26th July – registrations open from 8th of July July; and July 29th to August 9th – registrations open from July 22nd).
The opening hours are as follows: Portimão (6 to 12 years old), Alvor and Mexilhoeira Grande (6 to 15 years old) – from 09:30 am to 18:00 pm; Praia da Rocha Sports Area (13 to 16 years old) – 09:30 am to 13:00 pm.
