The Left Block requested the hearing of the former executive director of the Algarve II – Barlavento Health Centers Group at the Parliamentary Health Commission.

This request follows the resignation of Rosa Gonçalves from the position of executive director of that structure, first-hand reported by Sul Informação.

BE's deputies consider that «given the relevance of Rosa Gonçalves' role in the organization of primary health care in the Algarve, her hearing at the Parliamentary Health Committee will certainly be very useful for understanding the problems that exist in this primary health care region".

For this reason, the Left Block considers it important that the Parliamentary Health Commission receive Rosa Gonçalves in hearing, "in order to know her perspectives on the reorganization of healthcare in the Algarve that is underway".

The request for this parliamentary hearing of the former director of ACES Barlavento comes after Martins dos Santos, president of the Regional Health Administration (ARS) and responsible for the ongoing reorganization, was heard at the Parliamentary Committee, on the 15th, also at the request of the Block.

To what Sul Informação found out, Rosa Gonçalves resigned from her duties allegedly for not agreeing with the most recent guidelines of the Regional Health Administration for the primary care sector in the Algarve.

Rosa Gonçalves, who was the executive director of ACES Barlavento since 2009, is a doctor who is considered a historical reference for the installation of the Algarve's National Health Service.
