Tomorrow there is «a big horn and a march of revolt and indignation against tolls/against the destruction of the Algarve», on the EN 125 between Faro and Olhão, an initiative that brings together the Commission of Users of Via do Infante (CUVI) and the Motoclube de Faro.

The meeting point will be in front of the headquarters of the Motoclube de Faro (departure from the city to Olhão, in front of the Sports Complex), at 16 pm, ending the protest in front of the Ria Shopping Mall in Olhão, after the U-turn at the Cubo roundabout.

An initiative that will count on the presence of the mayor of Olhão, Francisco Leal, who will comment on the topic of tolls at the end of the march.

«It should be noted that Olhão is being one of the places in the Algarve that has been very affected by tolls, being crossed by the EN 125 and that it has a “hell” of constant traffic and, moreover, the projected variant will no longer be built by Estradas of Portugal”, illustrated CUVI in a press release.

Surprise actions are also planned during the slow march, related to «the cancellation of variants to this road that will no longer be built – in Olhão, Luz de Tavira, Odiáxere and the variant to the EN 2, between Faro and S. Brás de Alportel – with the high accident rate that returned to the EN 125, transforming this road once again into the “road of death” and with the high financial, economic and social losses represented by tolls on the Via do Infante».

“Tolls are very quickly killing the Algarve's economy and society. This region is on the brink of a terrible catastrophe, with around 80 unemployed, hundreds of companies failing and many families torn apart by road accidents on the EN 125. There are strong reasons to intensify and radicalize the fight for the abolition of tolls on the EN XNUMX. Algarve», defended the commission of users.

The anti-toll platform in Via do Infante also called for the presence of "all users and other citizens", stating that "the times we live in require action and not resignation".
