The Board of Directors sent the Sul Informação a nine-point clarification of the controversial decision to charge parking, starting by saying that “the idea of disciplining parking at CHBA is not at all new. In fact, this is a process that was carried over from the previous Board of Directors, which had already detected several anomalous situations that occurred in the car park, including abusive parking", which is registered due to the "strategic location" of the hospital "at the entrance to the city of Portimão ».
For this reason, the clarification continues, «this Board of Directors has materialized a project that has already
existed and launched an international public tender for the Car Park Concession, from which the Company CPE – Companhia de Parques de Parking, SA was selected».
The Board of Directors also emphasizes that «this strategy of disciplining and granting parking concessions, in a hospital environment, is not an isolated idea and has been implemented in several hospitals in the country».
Trying to answer the questions that have been raised about the payment of parking, the CA adds that "it decided that professionals related to the house and some exceptions (volunteers, donors and other specific cases) will enjoy free parking in specific parking lots for that purpose."
On the other hand, it guarantees that "a process of modernization is underway in the service to users of External Consultations that will allow the consultation to be carried out, at the previously scheduled time, safeguarding any eventuality that may arise".
This point of clarification seeks to respond to the criticisms that have been made by users, who stress that they sometimes wait long hours for external consultations that do not take place at the scheduled time. With paid parking, in addition to user fees, users will also have to pay a significant bill to be able to park.
The Board of Directors of CHBA also said that “those who stay in the car park for a maximum of 15 minutes will not be charged a usage fee. However, if it exceeds this period, the table value will be charged for the entire time».
