Mackerel will be the ingredient in focus in the first edition of the Mostra de Sabores de Olhão, which will take place in various locations in this municipality from 20th to 26th of May.
An initiative of the municipality that involves a restaurant and other public entities, namely Docapesca, which has been promoting the consumption of this fish.
Over the course of a week, several restaurants in Olhão will respond to the challenge launched by the organization to include in their menu «a dish of mackerel (fresh or preserved), either as a starter or main course», explained the Chamber of Olhão.
At the same time, there will be actions with the participation of Chef José Cordeiro in various locations in the municipality, such as the EB 2,3 João da Rosa school, the Municipal Library Auditorium, the Municipal Market and the Compromisso Marítimo building. In this case, the initiatives are coordinated by Docapesca.
"Between Thursday and Sunday there will be night entertainment in collaboration with the city's bars," added the municipality.
At this time, the complete program has not yet been closed, which will be “timely publicized”. This initiative by the Municipality has a partnership with Docapesca, the municipality's restaurants and Real Marina Hotel & Spa.
