Based on the fable by Hans Christian Andersen, the opera “The Little Mermaid”, by Gita Nasta, will take place on the stage at Teatro Mascarenhas Gregório. The show is promoted by the Escola Internacional do Algarve, the Municipality of Silves and Ideias do Levante.
Dozens of singers from Ideias do Levante, young people from the Escola Internacional do Algarve and other guest singers, aged between 7 and 70, are part of the cast of this opera.
The opera, directed by Gita Nasta (with the collaboration of Francisco Brazão) and accompanied by an ensemble of instruments, is composed of three acts and its melody varies between musical comedy and classical opera styles, bringing an interesting artistic combination to the show. .
The choice of Teatro Mascarenhas Gregório to replace this opera is due to the interior beauty of this space, which provides an atmosphere of “Opera House” (ie, Opera House).
The show, aimed at people over six years old, has two sessions, one on Saturday at 20 pm and another on Sunday at 00 pm.
The ticket revenue will revert to an institution in the municipality to be designated.
