Sérgio Godinho will be in Pechão, in the municipality of Olhão, this Saturday, at 17 pm, to inaugurate the collective exhibition «Sérgio Godinho and the 40 illustrations», which will be on display at the local Parish Council until 28 March. On the same occasion, the book that gave rise to the exhibition will be presented, designed to mark the 40 years of the musician's career, with the presence of editor João Paulo Cotrim.

The work is a partnership between Sérgio Godinho, who selected the songs, and João Paulo Cotrim, editor of Abysmo, who challenged 40 illustrators to illustrate some of the Portuguese composer's melodies. The work that resulted gave rise to this exhibition with fine art prints from different interpretations.

Among the guest illustrators, from various generations and with varied styles, are José Brandão to Henrique Cayatte, from Catarina Valadas to Gémeo Luís, from João Maio Pinto to Pedro Nora, from Pedro Proença to Teresa Lima, from João Fazenda to André Carrilho .

During the session Sérgio Godinho will talk about his new experience and his long career as a singer, musician and producer over 40 years. The Pechão Parish Council invited actor Luís Vicente, musician Paulo Pires and artist Reinaldo Barros, who will also participate in the event.

«Os Survivors» (1971), «Mutual Consent» (2011), «Lisbon that Dawns», «Etelvina», «Rita's Ballad», «Find me a job», «With a sparkle in his eyes», «The elixir of eternal youth", "On consecutive days" and "Breath of the heart" (written by Sérgio Godinho for the Clã) are some of the illustrated songs.

«Sérgio Godinho and the 40 illustrations», from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 17 pm. More information can be obtained from the Parish Council of Pechão by telephone 289 710 640/647 or by email [email protected]
