The inauguration of the exhibition at the Museu de Portimão with the ten pieces produced in the wake of the creative project “Design & Ofícios 2” will take place on Saturday, the 9th, at 17:00.
During the inauguration, the program and some news related to the third edition of this project, which consists of a creative residency for designers, artisans or other creatives, on the initiative of the Southern Designers Association and the Municipality of S. Brás de Alportel.
The objective is to materialize experimental, creative and original projects, within the scope of sustainable design, eco-design or contemporary crafts, using local, natural and biodegradable materials, such as clay, cork, wood, palm leaves, board, esparto or natural fiber fabrics.
To assist participants in the development of their prototypes, some local artisans transmit their knowledge, techniques and experiences related to the materials to be used.
Registration for the third creative residency “Design & Ofícios” is open until May 20th, taking place between June 7th and 10th of this year at the municipal workshop in São Paulo, which operates in an old oil mill.
The exhibition “Design & Ofícios” can be seen at the Museu de Portimão until the 28th of April, during the following hours: Tuesday – 14:30/18:00; Wednesday to Sunday – 10:00/18:00.
