Barcelona won the Mundialito 2013, the biggest tournament in the world of youth football, in the Children's category (2001/2002), by defeating Futebol Clube do Porto on penalties.

Mundialito 2014 returns to Vila Real de Santo António

Present at the Mundialito awards ceremony, the Mayor of VRSA, Luís Gomes, congratulated the more than 4 children who attended the tournament and announced that, in 2014, «Mundaito will return to the cities of Vila Real de Santo António and Ayamonte, between the 12th and 20th of April».

Also present at the closing ceremony, the president of the Ayuntamiento [municipality] of Ayamonte, Antonio J. Rodríguez Castillo, thanked the thousands of people who were in the two border towns and assured that the municipalities will continue to share the organization of this event.

 

The biggest edition of Mundialito ever

Mundialito is the world's largest children's football tournament and grew again in 2013, with the participation of 4.000 children from 54 nationalities and 200 teams from various continents.

The seventh edition of the competition in VRSA registered the largest participation ever by Brazilian teams, from Rio de Janeiro to Minas Gerais, and had, for the first time, the presence of the team of the Royal Spanish Football Federation.

Between the 24th and 30th of March, more than 750 matches were played at the Vila Real de Santo António Sports Complex and at the Cidade de Ayamonte and Blas Infante Stadiums (Spain).
