Vilamoura Marina, Loulé Municipality and Rota Vicentina were awarded this thursday with the “Publituris Portugal Trade Awards 2013”, in a ceremony that took place at the Lisbon Tourism Exchange.
The awardees from the south of the country were distinguished in the categories of Best Port/Marina, Best Municipality and, in the case of Rota Vicentina, with the Innovation Award.
In all, awards were given in 16 categories, in a choice that involved close to a hundred companies and institutions.
The initiative aims to distinguish the more technical areas of tourism, with the Publituris newsroom being responsible for appointing companies in each category.
In the Marinas/Ports category, there was more than one competitor from the Algarve. In the first case, the Marinas of Lagos and Portimão were also nominated, while in the category of Municipalities Vila Real de santo António was also nominated. There were also Algarve institutions and companies competing in other categories.
To choose the winners, criteria such as communication and marketing policies, capacity for innovation, business generated, actions developed with the trade or the quality of service perceived were taken into account.
This assessment takes into account the work carried out by each of those involved during the previous year. The winners, in addition to the award, are given a seal certifying the excellence of the company or institution.
The Portugal Trade Awards are held in partnership with BTL and are sponsored by Banco Espírito Santo, Travelport and Turismo de Portugal.
