Tunes will host on February 18th and 20th an awareness-raising action on the topic “Collective Risks and Civil Protection”, aimed at seniors. The initiative will take place at the Lifelong Education Pole in Tunis and starts at 14:30 pm.

Serious accidents and catastrophes, risks and vulnerability in the national territory, prevention and self-protection measures, emergency plans, information sources, associations and citizenship and practical activities are some of the main programmatic contents of the action, which will take place in two sessions.

On the 18th, participants will have some notions of how to react in the event of earthquakes, tsunamis, floods and other catastrophes, as well as the technical-scientific advances in the area of ​​impact reduction and prevention.

The session on the 20th will be based, among other aspects, on the presentation of the organization and civil protection agents, dissemination of sources of information about before, during and after a disaster situation, typologies and objectives of emergency plans, basic notions of first aid and simulations.

The promoter of the action is the National Civil Protection Authority (ANPC), in partnership with the Municipal Civil Protection Service and the Social Action Sector of the Municipality of Silves.

ANPC has been promoting this type of action within the scope of the European Year of Active Aging and Solidarity between Generations and intends to transmit useful information on prevention and self-protection against collective risks, which allow the maintenance of quality of life and contribute to the reduction the effects of serious events and/or catastrophes.
