Gourmet Love on the 11th, at Loja 11 Gourmet, in Loulé Market, he presented the new chocolate with salt flower by Salmarim. A special treat for Valentine's Day.

The perfect ingredients for discovering flavors came together. Chocolate and fleur de sel. It is not a discovery, as there are already chocolatiers working these ingredients, but “the challenge was a new approach, working with chocolate by mixing it with fleur de sel and spontaneous aromatic herbs from the South. Reflecting the Algarve culture, the regional product and handcrafted with the dedication and affection that Manuela has already accustomed us to Amour Gourmet products” says Jorge Raiado, from salmarim.

Manuela Sabino's experience in working with chocolate allowed her to create the recipe for the two types of chocolate that have now been launched. “Right now, chocolate is still in the final flavor tuning. But we wanted to take advantage of this time to launch the product, provoking the market, because at this moment the reaction and feedback from the consumer is very important.”, comments Manuela.

11 Gourmet Store was the space chosen for the presentation of the product, as this partnership between the two companies Gourmet Love e salmarim born from the invitation of João Apolónia, the owner of 11, made in November 2012, to work the sweet and savory food together. It was a challenge that both of them welcomed and, from there, they rolled up their sleeves and the job came.

For now, the reception to the product on the day of the presentation was good. People welcomed him with curiosity. Jorge Raiado confesses that it is necessary to educate people about tasting, that they learn to appreciate the intensity of flavors and take pleasure in the aromas that make up chocolate: “the composition of dark chocolate with the flor sal and the flavors of the South allow the fleur de sal intensify and highlight the aromas, helping to enhance the predominant aroma”.

Future prospects for this product are still open. “Let's wait and see, how the market reacts to our provocation”, say Jorge Raiado and Manuela Sabino, amid laughter and good cheer.

But, even so, the idea of ​​moving forward with a product that is a quality reference remains. “Creating a product that reflects southern Portugal and that can be associated with Salmarim's premium product,” says Jorge Raiado.

Manuela Sabino reveals a little more about a possible path “combining tradition, culture, the artisanal character of the product with a unique experience, which you take home, combining the artistic side, is one of the possibilities to explore”.

For now, those who want to try this limited edition can find it at Loja 11, in Loulé, for €2,00, while at Ely Flower, in Almancil, when buying a bouquet of flowers for Valentine's Day, the chocolate treat comes . It will also be present in March, at the Chocolate Fair, in Campo Pequeno, Lisbon.
