The Constitutional Court refused to accept the appeal against the decision of the Supreme Administrative Court that determines the loss of office of the President of the Chamber of Faro Macario Correia.

This would be the last instance for which the President of the Chamber of Faro could appeal, so it should even lose its mandate, since the judgment confirms "the grounds of the summary decision rendered", rendered on October 18, 2012, concluding the TC "by the rejection of the presented claim", to which all definitely indicates.
José Macário Correia had been convicted, in June 2012, by the Supreme Administrative Court, the loss of office for violation of urban planning and land use regulations when he was president of the Chamber of Tavira. The mayor then appealed to the Constitutional Court, which confirmed the loss of mandate.
The Farense mayor had been accused “of guilty violation of valid and effective instruments of management and planning of the territory or urban planning”, in a case in which he had been acquitted in the first instance.
The case has to do with 21 processes for licensing housing, swimming pools and rural tourism, always violating the Protal and the PDM of Tavira. The STA considered that "the various illegalities thus committed" by the mayor "correspond to the most serious form of violation of the current urban legal framework".
José Macário Correia was elected president of the Tavira City Council in 1998, where he remained until 2009, the year he won the Municipalities in Faro.
