Sebastião Antunes is the name that follows in the Cantautores Cycle of the Casa do Povo of Santo Estêvão, in the interior of the municipality of Tavira.
The concert is scheduled for Saturday, January 12th, at 22:30 pm, at CPSA, and promises a well spent night with one of the great authors, promoters and interpreters of the best music made in Portugal.
In his music, Sebastião Antunes, who is also the mentor of the group «Quadrilha», visits a bit of the Portuguese past, as well as the music of North Africa, the Celtic and traditional music made by Folk Europe, specifically in the Islands British, not hiding their passion for traditional Portuguese sounds.
In the concert «A Cor da Música», Sebastião Antunes seeks a more intimate environment, where he seeks all types of sounds that make it a pleasure to listen, especially in more cozy environments. In this concert, Sebastião Antunes will play guitar and voice, duly accompanied...
In this acoustic challenge in the room of the Casa do Povo of Santo Estêvão, traditional music, instruments, techniques and compositions by Sebastião Antunes will be paraded, among which certainly some of the songs from the most recent work of «Quadrilha».
Sebastião Antunes was born on August 16, 1967 in Castelo Branco. He began his professional activity in 1988 with the edition of the single “Caixinha de Música”, with the group Peace Makers.
He is vocalist, author and composer of the group «Quadrilha» (folk music group with six released albums) presents a popular music project, based on Portuguese tradition, taking into account its different influences, such as the so-called root music Celtic music or music from the countries of North Africa.
The Cantautores cycle will continue with a show by Pucarinho, scheduled for February 23rd.
Admission to these concerts costs five euros, including a drink (water, juice or beer).
